As with previous years, Tricia Bertram Gallant and her Peer Educators are asking for your help in promoting academic integrity on the UCSD campus. For the third year in a row, the AIM! (Academic Integrity Matters) Student Organization, is running, with the support of the Academic Integrity Office and funding from the six college deans of student affairs, an educational and outreach campaign over this winter and into the spring quarter. One of the highlights of this campaign is the “Imagine a University Without Cheating” Contest, the first prize being a $100 UCSD Bookstore Gift Card!
Piggybacking on its prominence in pop culture today, the theme this year will be Zombies! Between now and March 31st, 2012, students can enter the contest submitting their response to solve the “zombie infection” that is cheating through developing ways we can “vaccinate” ourselves to increase integrity on campus. Winners will be chosen by UCSD community members and local high school students. See http://aimucsd.wordpress.com and cheatingzombies.com for more information.
The winner of the contest will be announced at the end of the “Face2Face with Academic Integrity” week. The week will occur during the third week of Spring quarter and will be focused on raising awareness about issues relating to academic integrity and cheating on the UCSD campus. Throughout the week we will be on library walk promoting academic integrity and giving away cookies and academic integrity products.
