Through the UC San Diego Center for Community Health, the Network for a Healthy California has internship opportunities within the Retail Program. The intern(s) will be assisting in the support of the program’s goal of empowering the low-income population to select healthy foods and beverages and increase physical activity through nutrition education, social marketing and environmental supports.
The job setting varies and may include:
* In-office work as well as meetings
* Work in educational agencies, businesses, community based organizations, city and county governments, and others involved in addressing hunger, food insecurity, nutrition, obesity prevention, physical activity, and health disparities
Project based positions include, but are not limited to:
* Nutrition Specialist
* Community Engagement Specialist
* CalFresh Specialist
* Physical Activity Specialist
* Media Specialist
* In-Office Analyst
Internship hours are flexible but will require a minimum of 10 hours per week with occasional evening and weekend commitments.
