Many of your students want to shadow abroad, but how many opportunities let them shadow in the public hospital system in Europe? This is particularly important when the US’s Affordable Care Act turns the US health system into something more like Europe’s. Moreover, our students do 25 quality shadowing hours per week–which is enabled by hospitals that see our impact in the community (chiefly through having our students teach English locally). The
Atlantis Project is now offering 2-week summer sessions (in addition to the 5- and 10-week ones that you’re used to) to bring pre-health and nursing undergraduates to the Canary Islands (Spain) and the Azores Islands (Portugal). Atlantis Fellows shadow in public hospitals, improve language skills, explore the islands, and teach English on the side–all of this in some of the most beautiful places on earth.
