Undergraduates conducting lab research have an opportunity to apply for Summer Research Scholarships!
These scholarships are competitive and they provide students with $4,000 of support. All current UC San Diego undergraduates in any major who will be enrolled the following school year are eligible to apply. Students who plan on graduating mid-year may also apply, provided the project and final report are completed before graduation. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or eligible under the AB540 “California Dream Act.”
Please note: The project must be completed while the applicant is a UCSD undergraduate. Students will not be eligible if they will have graduated before summer. Students also cannot be part of a BS/MS program during the award period.
The Division’s do/bio center will conduct special Info Sessions for students about the Summer Research Scholarship opportunity on
· Wednesday, January 7 (12:00pm-1:00pm; NSB Auditorium)
· Monday, January 12 (4:30pm-5:30pm; NSB Auditorium)
The Division’s do/bio Center has partnered with UCSD’s Writing Center Director. The Center’s Director will present a workshop on how to write a personal statement and how to write a research proposal on January 16.
And… with only ONE application a Bio student has a chance to be considered not only for the Division’s Eureka! Scholarship, but – at a minimum – for two additional scholarship opportunities!
