For undergraduate students who are interested in education as a possible career path, EDS 132 Hands On Lab offers an excellent opportunity to experience teaching science with high school students from Upward Bound Math and Science.
UCSD undergrads will work with grad students and educators to co-create, facilitate, evaluate, and improve hands-on science lessons with high school students.
The course is 4 credits and will be offered on Tuesdays, 3:30PM–6:30PM.
From previous Hands On Lab students —
“There are so many ways of teaching and learning.”
“I never realized how much fun UCSD can be.”
Hands On Lab is made possible from NSF CAREER funding for the Devaraj Lab at UCSD as part of the CREATE STEM Success Initiative.
