Intern for Uganda Village Project | Summer 2017

The Healthy Villages Summer Internship brings together undergraduate, graduate, international development, public health, and medical students from across the globe to work alongside rural communities as they are empowered to lead healthier lives. The 2017 internship dates are:

  • June 14 – August 13, 2017 for team members (8 weeks)
  • June 11 – August 13, 2017 for team leaders (8.5 weeks)

As a grassroots public health organization working in rural villages, Uganda Village Project offers interns hands-on experience in the following areas:

  • Monitoring and Evaluation: collecting household surveys  to measure knowledge and behaviors
  • Working in an interdisciplinary, cross-cultural team (interns from Uganda, US, Europe, Australia, and more)
  • Collaborating with community leaders to identify and address a village’s most pressing health concerns
  • Conducting educational sessions (sensitizations) in coordination with Village Health Team Members (VHTs)
